Photographer Laura Totten wanted a new look for her website that would be “playful and professional.”
Laura wanted to keep her original site’s “counting stars” theme, but needed to give it a new look and feel. Design Kompany intern Alex Hage painted a series of inkwash drawings to evoke a night starscape. Rollovers give the feel of a changing sky.
Laura wanted to be able to update the website on her own, without figuring out back-end code. So we opted for an application that lets people move photos around easily, Domny Design’s Slide Show Pro. Design Kompany creative director Akira Morita picked this application for this project because it provides smooth transitions and is easy to customize.
When Laura saw the website in its near-final iteration, she said: “Oh my gosh! I LOVE it!!! I am so tired from photographing today, but I’m jumping around my apartment with excitement!”
