Because we care about arts, culture, and community, DK took on this pro bono project of creating a logo design for an art walk in our neighborhood. This was when we lived in Seattle. We walked the organizers through our regular process, working to define the thing that made their campaign, “Blitz,” unique, compelling, and memorable. It also had to be authentic. Big time. Comic artist Ellen Forney and Babeland’s Audrey McManus helped us think through the big ideas, and we came back with this logo design. But the cool part was that it wasn’t “final.” As the art walk evolved, a different designer could take the logo design and riff on it to make it theirs. That kept it fun, fresh, and invited the community to participate in new ways. People make the event fun, not some designer’s ego.
