I really like it that people get their nerd on in Seattle.
People here love games. Star Wars. Graduate school. And legos.
Design Kompany headed down to Brick Con at Seattle Center today to see what we could see.
It was totally packed when we got there at 1pm, with a ridiculously long queue. Most kids were boys around age 5 to 9.
I guess the machine guns, artillery, army, and battle scene compilations had something to do with the mostly young male audience. No My Little Pony lego sculptures. No princess wands.
I have some things to say about gender bias, but I will leave that for another post. I have more to say, I think, about the glorification of battle, which I will leave to after-dinner conversations with close friends.

Still, there were some cool and creative ways people put their tiny plastic blocks together.
Thought you might appreciate the link to the Flickr pool from Brick Con.
(And hey, Brick Con, looks like y’all could use a new logo design. Just sayin.)
