The bad news is Atlas is closing its landmark used clothing store on Broadway.
Today is their last day, and clearance sales are ON.
I was just there last night and they told me they’ll be open from 12 to 6pm.
The good news is they’re relocating.
Design Kompany checked out the new store and noticed, as we would, that they’ve rebranded.
One store clerk told me this was “a more mature” look.
“Are you trying to attract older customers?” I asked.
“No.” She shrugged. “It’s the same stuff.” Though she did add they’ve gotten more picky about selecting things.
When we stopped by the new store, it looked amazingly redone, based on the light spilling onto the street and the warm fuzzy feeling you got walking by. It’s next to Moe’s, the bar by Neumo’s, and it looks like there’s a newish fish and chips joint on the other side.
I asked the guy at the new store who did their updated logo. He said, “Some local guy.”
If anyone knows who this person is, DK is curious to meet him.
It’s a really nice design.
But we’re wondering why the facelift, and a little skeptical about the idea. Unless they’re planning to go all yuppie and upscale.
Wondering.
