I couldn’t help but get excited about a bunch of new sights and sounds and colors the other day.
No, not talking about China’s dramatic fireworks display in Vancouver, B.C, though that was fantastic.
I’m talking about the making of waffles:
Ate two.
Had to upload to YouTube.
DIY waffle-making without a fryer thing
After this, I started to obsess about waffles.
They have them at Volunteer Park Cafe, but the “Sold Out” card is always up there whenever I go.
So it’s not just me.
I do the next best thing: frozen waffles. Not exactly the same, but you just can’t go wrong with fresh toppings like:
cut plums and nectarines
yogurt
maple syrup of course
walnuts
and sometimes the occasional dollop of flax seed oil.
Health benefits
Flax seed oil, you ask? Yes. It’s good for brain chemistry balance. You know, choc full of those omega 3s.
Check out other sources of healthy omega 3 fats in U.S. News and World Report, published August 1.
