Last week, I saw a woman sewing yarn trim onto what seemed to be a giant stuffed Puff the Magic Dragon.
This was in the window of the Washington Ensemble Theatre. Every time I walk by, I wonder what they’re doing in there–it seems to have been closed all winter. Remodeling? Not sure. I’ve been for a few plays–This is Our Youth, Crumbs are Bread Too, and a few others whose titles I can’t quite remember. This is a great little theatre–it used to be called The Little Theatre–and even though the plays are hit and miss, it’s fun to go out and see what’s happening.
For example, this:

I’ve been noticing these posters around Capitol Hill–and I’m glad to see WET is back, delivering more of their melancholy stories to otherwise peppy and bright Seattle. –DK
Here’s a blurb about the show:
Left home alone day after day, four year old Lucy relies on her imagination for company. She spends her time planning trips with her imaginary best friend Mr. Marmalade, who has a cocaine addiction and a penchant for pornography and kinky sex. And Larry, her only real friend, is the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey. Fantasy and reality collide and intertwine in this new play by Noah Haidle. Delightfully subversive and achingly familiar, Mr. Marmalade is a darkly absurd comedy about what the real world really is.–WET
