There’s a new art gallery on the Hill, and I didn’t know about it (thanks Seattle Weekly)! It’s called Vermillion, and I went down to say hi last week. The owner Diana Adams is really nice and friendly, which is a big plus for people like me, who don’t buy art necessarily but is very interested. She is planning a bar/restaurant in the back, too (another plus for casual art lovers!), but says that she wants the art to be the focus, and will wait until that part gets off the ground before expanding. The current show, called “Hand to Paper” (through this Sat!) is pretty good, but there’s a group show coming up, too. It’s on the 12th between Pike and Pine, and open in the afternoon.
There’s another gallery/bar being planned on the street, too, I hear. The whole area is shaping up to be quite a scene!
