Society of Professional Journalists just issued a press release about a free forum called “Today’s News: A ‘Webolution’ in Progress” next Monday here in town. Some local journalists and bloggers telling us stuff. Not sure what to make of this, but wanted to let you all know. I’ve met panelists Cory Bergman of King5 and Alex Johnson of MSNBC and am vaguely curious what they might say.
My 2c? Truly creative ideas get quashed in corporate systems. And independent systems breed splits and ego clashes. And many other things we the people have no idea about. Where does that leave us? America, Sept. 11 2007.
Still, the idea of how the web is a bigger influencer than it ever was could be worth hearing from dudes who get paid to report/ write “news.”
