On the Boards hosts NW New Works festival for arts

On the Boards

Queen Anne arts venue On the Boards hosts its Northwest New Works Festival in block showcases from June 8-17. Anyone I know in Seattle who’s into dance and theatre has checked out this neat space, which is intimate with a relatively small theatre, kind of like WET on 19th. [But not that small.] Small is good, though, don’t get me wrong. Both spots are good when you’re in the mood.

I caught up last week with OtB’s Tania Kupczak, having noticed the slight shift in the way their promotional materials are now designed and presented. Pyramid Communications did the update, I learned, and the cool thing is they used a method similar to Design Kompany’s: asking bunches of questions. With the help of a style guide on how to use the logotypes in print and on the web, now On the Boards can be consistent with the materials they produce.
