Getting to Be Creative at Design Kompany

To develop the Kikokugo.com logo and web site, we worked with Seattle web development company Asset System USA. As part of the partnership, Asset’s web designer Mikiko Kobayashi came to our office a few days a week to learn how Design Kompany approaches brand identity design. We asked her what she thought of the experience.

DK: How did you like working with us?
MK: It was a good experience to work with you. You have a good sense of design, and every time we meet new ideas come up, which is very creative! You are very friendly and accept any idea from me, so while I was working there, I felt very comfortable.

DK: What did you learn from Akira?
MK: He taught me a lot of things about Photoshop and Illustrator. When I asked him about my design problems, he always gave me his ideas, which was very helpful. Also he has good communication skills. I studied presentation skills from him.

DK: What was your favorite part of the project?
MK: My favorite part was sketching logos. I could draw anything, whatever I wanted. After we finished drawing, everybody showed their drawings and commented about each one. Then we could combine the drawings and create a new logo. It was very fun!

If you’d like to do an internship with Design Kompany, send a resume and cover letter our way.
