Dream Kitchen This Friday: Video Art Extravaganza

Anomie|wt: is that an American Flag I see?

This is it, folks.

Dream Kitchen will be taking a break after this one.

Our luncheon-come-casual-coworking (“what the heck is that?”—here’s the wikipedia entry for coworking) sessions have been a lot of fun for sure, but the arrival of summer (why be stuck inside when it’s nice out, especially since our summer is so short?), the impending arrival of the new member of DK team (and all the mayhem that ensues after that, according to many advisers) mean that we need to keep those Fridays open to other activities.

Needless to say, we need to go out with a bang.

So this week, we have lined up our über-genius friend. John Adair (of Biznik fame: he made the freakin’ thing) is a video artist and technology-geek, whose photo show recently focused on the “the most reductive imaging device ever made” (that would be 0.009 mega-pixel Gameboy Camera). In his various visual art pursuits, he effortlessly mixes technology, computer science, moving and still imagery, conceptual art, and his love of cycling and nature to create one-of-a-kind experience. True to his programmer-self, the resulted work, whether it’s digital or analog, always seems to have something to do with interaction.

He’s bringing a bunch of video equipment that he’s working with, and some gadgetry that he recently acquired to share his latest work with us. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
