Friday Mile at High Dive

Friday Mile, at High Dive, May 2006

DK’er Jace Krause’s band Friday Mile played another tuneful and thumping set at a packed High Dive last night.

I took the photo above at the same venue, about a year and a half ago. Boy, how far they’ve traveled; after a two out-of-state tours, a great EP, and now with its own booking agent, the band— Jace (who sings and plays the guitar), vocalist/pianist Hannah, bassist Jake, and drummer Chad—has a stage presence that’s comfortable and intimate yet very strong and confident. I kid you not; this is a band to watch.

Andy Werth, a fellow local band, also played an inspiring set. They have a similar vibe as far as the songs go, but with quite a different instrumentation. A good match-up, I’d say. -AM
