When Cal Anderson Park opened up in Capitol Hill just a few blocks from Design Kompany’s office, we got really excited. In fact, so refreshing was the idea of open space in this dense urban landscape, we took the park’s silhouette as a motif for our company’s visual identity.
And the local park was where we found our company’s tag line: Anything is possible.
This weekend the Seattle Art Museum opens Olympic Sculpture Park, an 8.5-acre green space next to Belltown. SAM picked a design firm in 2001.
I hope whatever the New-York based firm Weiss/Manfredi has designed for SAM will energize downtown Seattle like Cal Anderson Park has uplifted Capitol Hill.
