This is a picture from the archives of Design Kompany’s film collection.
It’s from India.
More specifically, Rajasthan. That’s where DK rambled a lot in the early days trying to see what we could see.
It’s a similar approach to our branding work, too: see what’s there, traverse every square inch, incubate, and then make something beautiful that’s real and right.
Here’s the quote that inspires DK’s walkabouts—
We must not cease from exploration. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began, and to know the place for the first time. —T.S. Eliot
What do you think?
Is ground exploration to foreign countries still appealing in the Internet age? Does Facebook really make the world smaller? Is there really such a thing as the “global village?” Was T.S. Eliot right? Who’s gone full circle and can tell us about it?
