Patrick Wright, a friend of Design Kompany’s, is doing these cool animations.
I thought I’d share one of ‘em here, it’s about touring New York.
DK’s own Akira Morita went there a while back for an inspirational field trip. That’s when he shot these graffiti images from all around Manhattan.

Here’s a short Q&A with Patrick:
DK: Did you take the photos?
PW: Yup. See here.
DK: What did you use?
PW: Mostly a Nikon d90 (for digital stills and video), but also a Nikon fm, Mamiya c330, and a Polaroid sx-70.
DK: How did you get the depth of field to change around like that?
PW: Maybe you’re talking about shots in the video that have blurred edges?
If so, it’s just a ’tilt-shift’ effect available in magic bullet looks, which i used throughout the video (mainly for color purposes).
DK: Can I post about it on our blog?
PW: Go for it! Note that i take down the zip file after a few weeks, but the page itself will stay up.
Thanks, Patrick!
