Creative agency Wieden + Kennedy London made this beautiful illustration for the UK newspaper The Guardian.

I love the freshness of this. And the simplicity.
I discovered it while doing some research on typeface layout for a poster design. It’s really helpful to see what other people are making and doing.
It’s even nicer when the things they say about how they work sort of sound like what you’re always telling people, too.
W+K and DK have a lot in common when it comes to creating visual messages.
We talk a lot here about brand marketing, and coming up with a clear brand message before putting pencil to paper.
Same idea on W+K’s website, under “how we work”:
We place a lot of store in the ‘voice’ of the brand. The true voice of the brand can be the differentiating, engaging and consistent element in the way it is communicated.
This is a function of us believing that ‘how a brand says things’ is often more important than ‘what it says’….
We don’t believe that brands should bludgeon their way into the mind of consumers through interruptive media weight. We think that brands need to engage consumers into coming to them. —London creative agency Wieden and Kennedy.
