‘Release:’ A short summertime film by Design Kompany

With today’s heat wave, now it really feels like summer in Seattle.

Actually, it feels like summer on the East Coast.

Humidity. Yuck.

One of the three nice days of the year here in the Space City.

Of course, what am I complaining about, after four years in Ireland.

Still, here’s ‘Release:’

What do you think?

That’s me, by the way.

Here are some other short films I made in the last few months…

Dogs in Seattle
Cooking demonstration for making a quick, healthy lunch
Inspired by the Seattle-Victoria ferry ride
DK’s take on a Valentine’s Bollywood soundtrack
Silent short filmed in winter in Yokohama, Japan
Capitol Hill cafe culture
Escalators of Rem Koolhaas’ Seattle Central Library
Going to Cal Anderson Park
End

Great! Fabu! I really like this one. The shot looking up at your hands and the bar as you swing and then having it go out of focus really strikes me for some reason. This could be interpreted in a lot of different ways depending on what mood the viewer is in. I watched it twice and my view changed each time…. I love that about some of your shorts!

    Thanks, Mimi…

Yours and a bunch of other folks’ perspectives on End really got me thinking about making this kind of not-exactly-a-story short.

I liked hearing all the different comments, especially what parts or shapes or colors most strike people. That gives me a really neat new understanding of who they are and what matters to them.
