Yeah, but does it move you?

Statue by Wavular

All other things being equal, I’m tired of logic.

Of reason.

Of people trying to bully their way to eloquence.

Because you just can’t do that, no matter how hard you try. Art isn’t designed to “win.” It’s designed to move. It happens when you come to the table with your palms and heart held open.

Everything that’s worth doing is only worth it if you care. If YOU care. Not if you want to try to persuade, convince, step over, bully, or in any other way demean.

Throw reason away, and I’m convinced we’ll start to see art. Real art, I mean. The kind that moves you.

What I want to know is, does it move you? Does the thing make your heart step forward? I implore you: does it?

Make that happen, and you’ll have left a legacy.

Ignore this imperative, and we have waste.

We gather periodically via email to share tips, news and stories about designing our legacies.

Hi, I really like your comment – comes from the heart and I hear you. It makes me sit back and think. Could be applied to all aspects of life. It’s your life after all, not someone else’s.
