Yesterday we trekked to Soil Gallery to see the friend of a friend’s opening of… photographs of her own skin.
Photographs of skin?, you ask.
The answer is yes.
My favorite thing was what’s showing at Punch Gallery.
I’d heard they had good installations, and this was definitely one. It’s called Homestead, done by Justin Colt Beckman.
Punch says it “explores the banality of daily life and the contrast of private space and public experience. [It’s] a self-portrait and voyeuristic opportunity to ponder the question, Are the private lives of others really so interesting?”
Maybe not. But The Lives of Others is the best movie I’ve seen this year.
