Today at breakfast I asked this total stranger if I could look at her Communication Arts 2007 annual. She seemed perturbed, but acquiesed.
I got really excited about some of the illustrations within this special-focus volume. Especially this one image of a woman in a red dress, the same exact color of red as the wall behind her.
I’m not sure why this was so intriguing, but it made me want to do an Illustrator sketch. Wow. Red on red.
Well, red is a very powerful and warm color. I like how it works too. Actually my entire room is red – starting with walls and finishing with the carpet and the furniture… but sometimes this room gets me really tired because red is a violent color too.
