Design Kompany is a sponsor for the Capitol Hill self-defense advocacy nonprofit Home Alive’s annual auction. Here are the details:
Design Kompany is a Seattle graphic design studio with a focus on branding. Home Alive came to us with an identity design in place, but we helped the nonprofit’s organizers clarify what they do and why they formed in clear, concise language.
Design Kompany copywriter Jace Krause wrote the following for the back of the Home Alive auction invitations Design Kompany designed:
Safety is a basic human right.
Home Alive provides affordable self-defense classes to more than 1000 people every year. Nobody is turned away, and instruction is tailored to each individual.
The organization was formed in 1993 as a community response to the rape and murder of Mia Zapata, a Seattle musician.
The mission was strong and simple: to end violence and social oppression.
Fourteen years later, Home Alive is still standing up to all forms of oppression: homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, racism, sexism, ableism and classism.
Stand with us and help end these types of violence. Together we can create safe families, safe relationships and safe communities.
Graphic designer Demelza Sato is collaborating with DK on the layout for the program catalog. Illustrator Aaron Barker is helping out with design for table placemats. And DK creative director Akira Morita is making sure all of this gets done in time!
