We’re hosting the last in a series of open brown bag sessions, Dream Kitchen, on Wednesday March 14.
We invite people we know and haven’t yet met to stop by our office with a brown bag lunch between 12 and 2pm. The idea being that we get to talk about the things we do outside of work–the things that inspire and engage us creatively.
“You guys are like 60s people,” one of my friends said. “With your ‘designer salons.’”
If designer salons were about getting people to come together and talk about the wacky things that no one knows about them, and fire off new sparks from one another’s interests, then yeah, I guess that’s what these are. Dream Kitchen is a place to just relax and be you.
The point is to just tell stories about what’s interesting to you. Past topics have touched on: playing American football in Holland, walking on coals, being on the national skydiving championship team, hitting a hole in one in golf, and flying through waterfall curtains.
This last one came from a scene I read in Monkey: A Journey to the West.
Anyone is welcome to join us at Dream Kitchen, you don’t have to be an artist (or an athlete). Just come with a good story, a lunch, and maybe a book to share.
