On Friday evening, Gallery 1508.5 hosts Dazzle, the black and white photographs of Laura Totten. She will display a group of images that reflect her spirit and capture the essence of her subjects — of what it’s like to be human.
The photos on display will be for sale in three different sizes: a large-scale 42″ square, 16″ square or 8″ square. Each photograph sold will be custom printed, signed and editioned by the artist. All prints are museum quality, using archival paper and ink.
I met up with Laura yesterday to finalize plans for the show. We talked about hanging paper stars and creating a makeshift photobooth, where Laura will snap photos of attendees against a starry backdrop. For $5, visitors can take home a unique black and white Polaroid of themselves or friends. There will be a limited number of these available, so make sure to buy one early.
We are preparing the gallery on Wednesday night, and I will have some preview pics posted on Thursday.
