Bank of Nickelodeon

The familiar orange slime Nickelodeon logo will soon give way to a new “cleaned-up” version. In my opinion, it has no personality and without its signature orange color, it could be any boring corporate logo. What’s wrong with the slime? It brings back so many memories. The opening scenes of “Rugrats” and “Hey Arnold!” and my personal favorite “Doug.” The logo represented being a kid and not worrying about making a mess or coloring outside the lines. Now all that’s missing in the new logo is the tag line “Entertaining children since 1977″ or something else equally kid-friendly.

I agree. The current logo has more meaning to the viewers and to the kids as well. It gives that strong impact when nickelodeon comes in mind.

Ditto to the above. Kids I’m sure like and associate the ’splat’ to their favourite TV channel, the characters, and merchandise, and would find the plain text=only version boring and meaningless.
