Alternative Graffiti

I just went out looking for good stencil art in Capitol Hill around the Design Kompany office (see previous post) and I ended up finding a lot of graffiti that wasn’t hand-sprayed and wasn’t stencilled either. Here’s some alternative forms of graffiti, the most surprising being the huge knit sock on a street sign on Pine St. There’s a lot of handmade stickers out there. I especially like two woodcuts of monsters printed directly on adhesive nametages. I’ve noticed a theme of spilled or dripped paint as well, whether it be in the form of writing, or just (accidental?) splashes of it on the sidewalk.
