Following the gossip?
You’ll surely have some kind of opinion on the ‘”kissing jets” art piece NYC-based Mike Ross designed for Sound Transit’s new Capitol Hill light rail station.
When it opens, that is.
In 2016.
I got to hear three folks from Sound Transit share the “jets” artwork in motion graphics.
Here’s what it would look like if you were approaching the underground rail tracks:
According to a Seattle Times article about Mike Ross’ selection for Capitol Hill station’s public art, the Capitol Hill art budget is $550,000, including $110,000 for Ross.
A couple of questions—
- Do public comments matter?
- How much, if so?
- Should they?
- What about the “integrity of the artistic vision?”
