It’s one of those questions we throw around a LOT here at Design Kompany. Really, why?

If you need to, substitute “friends” with “customers” and it will make more sense perhaps. Business, marketing and social design are closely related subjects these days, and nowhere but on the internet is this more apparent and self-evident.
At our next (and third-last) Dream Kitchen on Friday, we will have perfect guests to give us some insight.
THE GUEST SPEAKERS
Lee LeFever is a fellow North Carolinian transplant who has helped people build some impressive on-line communities at his company Common Craft. Their current expertise is making videos that explain complicated stuff simply.

DOUBLE-HEADER
Bill Harding just launched Bonanzle, a social network and marketplace web site that makes peer-to-peer selling and buying stuff easier than ever (”5-10 times easier than on Craigslist,” he says). A keen observer might note that we had something to do with its logo or something, but that’s completely irrelevant here. As someone who’s just built a system for networking on-line, I suspect he too would know a thing or two about on-line community building.
It will be an interesting session, to be sure.
Dream Kitchen is a casual co-working session hosted at Design Kompany’s office every other Friday.
Each time, we invite special guests to give us themed discussion or presentation during the lunch break. We’ve had a cooking demo on healthy lunch wraps, a slide presentation on furniture design out of scraps, and a discussion on indy publishing, to name a few.
We provide open wifi, tea and coffee, some snacks. You are welcome to join us for however long you like! Please RSVP to kitchen at design-kompany dot com.
