This came from our “stock photography” pile of images that have been collected over the years here at Design Kompany. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you ‘Glass Sky:’
Sometimes when we’re working on something new, we like to go out and shoot specific images to “fit” a brand identity we’re developing. Rarely do these digital sketches get “used” for final designs; rather, they’re interim mockups.
We like working with images (naturally), but fleshing out a new “look and feel” to fit a company’s marketing message takes several layers of thought, design, concepting, and sketching.
Often by the time we arrive at the final solution for a new brand’s tone, we’ll have taken some 150 mockup photos to work with. Most end up in the pool from which ‘Glass Sky’ came. Testing things out is all part of the process of thinking a new idea through.
