D: Did you know Skid Row is touring?
G: Um…
D: They are. They’re touring. It’s been forever but I just don’t know.
G: Whaddya mean?
D: I mean, they were amazing with the album with Youth Gone Wild and stuff, and then… Well, then they did that awful Monkey Business or whatever.

Wow. I found 18 and Life on YouTube.
I used to karaoke this song.
G: You know, I met him. The guy. What’s his name?
D: Sebastian Bach?
G: Yeah. I met Sebastian Bach. In Ballard.

Hm. Wikipedia describes Skid Row’s early music as “glam metal.”
So, um. You know what?
I never would have thought I’d be reading about Skid Row on Wikipedia. When I was 16 I played them out of sheer teenage angst, or because no one else around me did, or something.
Being online way later and finding them so objectively written up on Wikipedia makes it all seem… old.
That doesn’t mean I’m giving away my Faith No More shirt. Or poster. I got that thing at Schoolkids in Chapel Hill.
What does Generation X got if it doesn’t got places like Schoolkids to look back on and tattered t-shirts to remember them by?
FWIW:
